About Thayillum Root Family
The First known person of Thayillum family was Erupputti. He used to live in a house approximately 1.5 Km Cherukolpuzha on the side of the road to Thiruvalla.

Erupputti had only one son Soman and Soman also had only one son Erupputti. After the basic education available on those days lived along with his father.

Thayillath Erupputti had three sons namely Soman, Mathunni and Erupputti. The eldest son Soman after his marriage settled as Pulimethoth house, Mathunni settled as
Pizhathil house.
Erupputti the youngest settled along with his father and his descendants comprise of
Thayillum Sakha.

Mathunni who moved out and settled as Pizhathil house and his descendants comprise of
Pizhathil Sakha.

Soman who lived as Pulimethoth and his descendants consisted of the rest of the seven Sakhas of Thayillum root family.

4. Pulimethoth Soman
Pulimethoth Soman (4th Generation)
He was the eldest son of Thayillath Erupputti who is the third generation of Thayillum Family. He moved out from his family house and stayed at Pulimethoth house. This property belonged to “kovilanmar’s’ and was bought from them.

Soman had three sons, Soman, Chacko who was also called ‘Ramachan’ and Erupputti.
The first son Soman after his marriage settled down at Panikkanteth house.
Panikkanteth Sakha consists of his descendants.

The second son Chacko after marrying settled at Kodiyattu house after moving out from the family house. He and his descendants comprise of
Kodiyattu Sakha.

The youngest son Erupputti married from Mylappra Thundiyil and settled at his family house as Pulimethoth house.

Vaneth Erupputti (5th Generation)
As time passed by Erupputti was forced to move out of the Pulimethoth house and property to “kovilanmar’s’ as they wanted it back. While looking for a new place to live he started off along with his wife to Mylappra. On his way they took rest near ‘puthiya Kavu’ temple which is on the banks of Pumpa River. When they were about to cross the river the ‘velichapadu’ from the temple stopped him and pleaded not to leave to another place. Soon was the ‘velichapadu’ identified the Vaneth property by throwing a spear.

This property belonged to the “kovilanmar’s’ who in turn are the authority of the temple.
Erupputti decided to settle down at the Vaneth property.

He had three sons namely, Soman, Educalla and Ettimathan. Out of the three sons the eldest Soman and his descendants comprise of
Thengumthottathil Sakha. The second son Educalla and his descendants comprise of Kaipallil Sakha. Third son Ettimathan and his descendants consist of Vaneth Sakha.
Thengumthottathil Soman Tharakan (6th Generation)
Soman was the eldest son of Vaneth Erupputti. He got married from Nedumprayar parackamannil family and bought Thengumthottathil family property and settled there.
This property was located at a central location. When you walk 1 km from Cherukolpuzha Kadavu (boat landing) it was Thengumthottathil house. On one side it had paddy fields and a small ‘thodu’ (stream of water) and most suitable for cultivating any crop.
